Aperitivo Bistro opened in the rejuvenated downtown Schenectady, NY in 2007. Nestled next to the historic Proctors Theater on State Street. With exposed brick and chic decor, their design utilizes a creative use of metals and lights. A great atmosphere to enjoy a delicious burger!
In Italy the word “aperitivo” means a beverage that is alcoholic that is consumed prior to a meal with the intention of stimulating the appetite… and it is very popular in Milan.
I didn’t partake in this tradition as I was on my lunch break… but their salad pulls me back all the time… I’ll definitely indulge next time.
Aperitivo’s small plates range from the traditional menu items to contemporary American comfort food. Other selections include specialty pizzas, fabulous pasta dishes, and larger plate selections.
I, of course, went for their Classic Burger – which is topped with mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and onion. (Simple and absolutely delicious!)
I paired it with their very yummy Classic Caesar Salad – which is chopped romaine, toasted bread, white anchovies, shaved parmigiano reggiano, and caesar dressing. (Perfection!)
I’m already drooling for my next one!
