48 Hudson Avenue is one of the newest additions to Historic Albany. The House, like most historic properties, has a name… Van Ostrande-Radliff House. It has recently come to light that it is now officially the oldest standing home in Albany, NY… built in 1728.
The Ostrande-Radliff House is 1 of literally a handful of Dutch houses to survive into the 21st century!
It has many unique features that do not exist anywhere at all in the US, let alone NYS. It needs many repairs and has been vacant for some time. I couldn’t get into the property, without getting arrested for breaking and entering of course… but they are planning walkthroughs that I’m hoping to attend starting this month! Very cool!
