The Stockade Historic District is a place of interest in Schenectady, NY. It features dozens of Dutch and English Colonial houses from the 18th and 19th centuries.
It is New York state’s first historic district, which is pretty neat in itself, designated in 1965 by the Department of Interior and named after the historic stockade that originally surrounded the colonial settlement.
There are so many beautiful, historic homes like this one below. I believe they have a tour (day and/or night) that you can take as well. Add that to the Capital Region Bucket List of Fun and Interesting Things To Do in the State I Grew Up In… (That’s totally a thing!)
