5 Simple Tips for Great Portraits

Portrait Tips

When I started out, no one told me the ins and outs; the dos and donts; the pros and cons; the hebes and the jebes… you get the jest.

So, I’ve got some simple, great tips for clients and for you photographers starting out or looking to venture into portrait photography alike!

Tip 1

Think of where your portrait print would be hanging in your home.

Make your choice of colors and outfits based on that as a starting point.

Keep your clothing simple!
Try to use solid colors
– Darker clothing slims
– Black, Blue, Dark Green, Brown, & other jewel tones colors are perfect
color choices!

Know what looks best on you
– Scoops & V-neck tops flatter shorter necks and fuller faces
– Turtlenecks or high necked garments flatter longer necks and slender
faces

Simple start right?!
